Die Beihilfe zum Suizid steht unter Strafe. In England und Wales sind Patientenverfügung
und Vorsorgevollmacht im Mental Capacity Act (2005) geregelt worden.
Das Parlament von England hat 2005 einem Gesetzentwurf zu Sterbehilfe und
assistiertem Suizid nach jahrelanger Beratung abgelehnt.
Das Justizministerium informiert zur rechtlichen Betreuung, das Gesundheitsministerium
zum Lebensende.
Die Bürgerinformationen zu rechtlicher Betreuung und den Vorausverfügungen
(England, Wales) sind ausführlich. Die Stadtverwaltung von Salford
fordert die Bürger zur Vorsorge auf.
